Itinerary
Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
Depart from Fes and drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and the cedar forests of Azrou to see wild monkeys. Pass through Midelt and descend into the stunning Ziz Valley, reaching the edge of the Sahara in Merzouga. Overnight at a hotel near the dunes with dinner and breakfast included.
Day 2: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi Dunes – Camel Trek & Desert Camp
After breakfast, explore the Merzouga region—visit local Berber villages, nomadic families, and enjoy tea with locals. In the afternoon, begin your camel trek across the dunes to your desert camp. Watch the sunset from the top of the dunes, enjoy a traditional dinner, and listen to Berber music under the starry sky.
Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Todgha Gorges – Dades Valley
Wake early to catch a breathtaking Sahara sunrise, then ride camels back to the village. After breakfast and a shower, drive to Rissani to explore its traditional market, then on to the dramatic Todgha Gorges—perfect for a short hike or photos. Continue to the Dades Valley, where you’ll spend the night in a guesthouse nestled between dramatic rock formations.
Day 4: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, travel through the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing palm groves and ancient fortresses. Visit the cinema capital Ouarzazate and the world-famous Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site featured in films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains and arrive in Marrakech in the evening.
